Medium:

Inspired by the 1980 U.S. failed hostage rescue operation in Iran’s Tabas desert, and an army vocabulary guide discovered online, I set up a text-map collage with archival documents from studies conducted in the years preceding the hostage crisis by Iran’s intelligence service and the CIA on the personalities and traits of the two country's nationals. The content of the documents are stretched beyond their voyeuristic bodies, flattening the striation of language. In the intersected video screens, Iran and 5+1’s diplomatic teams pave uniform labyrinthine hallways, with conviction, to reach the negotiation rooms, in a lingering decades-long encounter, in a loop.
